I continue to be amazed when I see Silas do new things.  It's becoming an everyday occurrence!

Christmas Tree

Here is another pre-Christmas set of photos.


Silas was fascinated by the Christmas tree.

He was surprisingly gentle with the branches.

Mum and bub look good in Christmas tree lighting!

How cute he is.

Unfortunately, both Silas and Mom were sick for Christmas this year. :(

 

Cool Hat

We found this cool hat for Silas


Who knows, hats may be the "in" thing when Silas is older.

Dad is finding it difficult to keep it on his head.

 

Rockies

NFL isn't the only sport for whom Silas cheers.

Snow Globe

Just before Christmas, the local mall had a huge snow globe setup.


This is a very unusual scene for the normal hot Christmas in Sydney.

Amazingly, going in was free and we came at just the right time... no line!

Shortly after, a line started to form, but here is Silas ready to go in.

I stayed outside thinking I could get some photos.
However, it was difficult to take good shots through the plastic.

Fake snow is better than no snow.

I'm wondering now if Mum or Silas is having more fun.

Silas is much more interested in the bubble than the snow or tree.

In Mum's words, "How fun!"

 

New Cowboys Outfit

Rain

Mum is showing Silas rain.
Yes, he has seen rain before,
but now he is starting to be able to appreciate it.

First Haircut

It's time for Silas' first haircut.
Kaye's Salon is the only place we know of that has a special kid's chair.


Silas thinks he's just going for a horsey ride.

I'm getting WHAT cut!?!?!

Please tell me SHE isn't cutting my hair.
No Silas, she is just covering you with a cute animal cape.

So THIS is who's cutting my hair?
Mom, I need a drink!

I need to keep an eye on you to make sure you don't
turn my hair pink! Blue is okay, but not pink.

Ok.  Thank you Miss Laura. That wasn't so bad.

 

Mom's Birthday

For Mom's birthday (yes, last October 31st),
she had a special gift from each of her kids.


Two earrings and a necklace.  How thoughtful!

Mum gives Silas enough hugs for all three of our children.

Then daddy took mommy out to dinner and a show in the city.

Nighttime Routine

Now that Silas' birthday blog is done,
I'm going to go back and blog a few older photos.

After Silas' bath, we have a little routine with his night bottle


Tonight is special because it is halloween.
That explains the special bib!

He really enjoys this night bottle.
Dad likes this special time too.

I thought Tina might get a better picture if I take away the bottle.
However, Silas seems a bit fixated on the food!

Not until I get that bottle back in my mouth.

 

The Eating of the Cake

The last job for the day (before the bath) was to eat the cake!
Mum covered Silas with a drop cloth.


Silas was licking his lips as we sang to him.

Is it time yet!?!?!?!

Hmmm... Interesting.

Dad, I'm finding it difficult to get a handful of cake.

They won't give me a knife... what shall I do?

I've got an idea!!! I'll use my new teeth!

Yum!

This is fun!

 

 

 

Overall, a complete success!  Happy birthday Silas!!!
