We buy all these toys and yet a simple sprinkler will keep Silas happy.

We found a nice train set at IKEA.  Usually Silas just wants to destroy the track daddy makes, but this time he started to actually play with the trains!  Yeah!

Skinned Knee

As I understand it, boys will get hundreds of skinned knees over their lifetime. But the first one is always the hardest. :(

It isn't easy seeing your boy hurt.

So glad mum is there to give the comforting kiss.

Silas "Helping" in the Kitchen

Silas likes to help in the kitchen.

Usually this means a BIG MESS.

Sometimes this means a big germ fest.

Silas loves going to Kindergym at the YMCA.

It has been too long since I blogged.

Our long vacation has me way out of sync!!!!

I'm starting about 6 months back.  Here is Silas driving a big red car.

Good thing there is a steering wheel on both sides.  I didn't want to have to explain the differences between US & Aussie cars.

He looks so young in these photos.... I need to catch up.

Silas' 2nd Birthday

I'm a bit behind on the other photos, but I wanted to blog his birthday photos today.

It was a dinosaur-themed 2nd birthday for Silas.

Silas is completely fascinated with rubbish trucks.  Since it happened to be rubbish day on his birthday, we hopped in the car and drove SJ around the neighbourhood so he could watch the bins being lifted and dumped.

Then it was time to see how tall he was 97cm (38 in / 3ft-2in)

After dinner at Red Lobster, we had AWESOME chocolate cake and mint ice cream.

No Silas, don't touch the candles.  Blow them out!

Well done.

Don't eat the cake yet! (Notice a new shirt was required for the rest of the night as Silas managed to wear a lot of  frosting.)

"Sorry Papa, no time to smile.  I'm too busy devouring."

We tried some silly string, but Silas was not impressed.
