First Swim Lesson - Part 2

Silas is getting a bit TOO comfortable in the water.
Mum is watching carefully.


He likes the floating mat.
"It's now time to walk on the mat."

Oh no! Silas is upset again.
Perhaps he doesn't like his swim teacher.

Time to walk on the floating mat.

Great balance and sexy legs.

Jump to Mama.

Now that was fun!

 

I think Mum is having fun too.

 

First Swim Lesson - Part 1

Silas had his first swim lesson.
It didn't start out too well.


Back in Mum's arms he started to feel better.

Ok.  This water feels pretty good.

Actually, this isn't bad at all.

It's actually pretty fun!

All sorts of lessons done today.
Silas, do what the creepy baby doll does.

Splash splash splash.

Kick kick kick

Ok.  Now I'm tired.

The Band

Here is our church worship band practising.


 This is special because it's the first time Mum
has played the Djembe in the band since Silas was born.
Isn't she beautiful?

Silas was watching in the back wearing his protective ear-gear.

"Daddy, may I please take them off?  I want to hear Mumma ROCK!"
(The music isn't that loud, but we want to be careful).

 

Cottage Cheese

Here is another gross food photo shoot.
This time Silas is feeding himself cottage cheese.


"Yum yum.  Oh wait, I'd have to get some in my mouth to actually taste it."

"Look, Mummy is letting me help myself."

"What? Is something wrong?" (Oh, if you could only see the floor!)

 

Fire Hose Reel

We can't seem to go by one of these signs without
Silas pointing frantically and wanting to stop.


He loves fire hose reels.  I have no idea why.

Perhaps he'll become a firey (fireman).

...or maybe he just likes red.  Who knows what goes on in that little mind of his!

 

Brushing Teeth

Now that Silas has a few teeth, he needs to learn to brush.
His Aunt Frannie and Uncle Ric gave him a Dallas Cowboy's toothbrush!  (For the record...why didn't I get one?  You know, as a father/son bonding thing.)



You're doing an awesome job there Pooh Bear.

"I'm diggin' this Mama."

"Do I get bonus points for brushing my tongue?"

Vacuuming

Based on the principle of Proverbs 22:6 (Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it), we are starting Silas on household chores early.


He is fascinated with the vacuum cleaner.

"Hey Daddy, hold this."

He wanted to see how it worked.
(Don't worry, I turned it off.)

A true engineer in the making. I'm SUCH a proud Dad!

 

Papa's Shoes

I do as much as I can to make people say "Silas looks like his Daddy!"
Even to the point of buying similar shoes. :)
 

Problem Solving

I continue to be amazed when I see Silas do new things.  It's becoming an everyday occurrence!

Christmas Tree

Silas was fascinated by the Christmas tree.

He was surprisingly gentle with the branches.

Mum and bub look good in Christmas tree lighting!

How cute he is.

Unfortunately, both Silas and Mom were sick for Christmas this year. :(

 

Cool Hat

We found this cool hat for Silas


Who knows, hats may be the "in" thing when Silas is older.

Dad is finding it difficult to keep it on his head.

NFL isn't the only sport for whom Silas cheers.
