Car seat, check. Pram, check. Pram cover, check. Cot, check. Mattress, check. Wall hangings, toys, nappy changer, check, check check. Cash or charge? Check!
I think we have most everything we need. How did children survive before baby stores?

36 Weeks / 9 Months

I thought nine months was it. I guess they have a different way of counting. Oh well, I think Silas is ready to come any day now!

Tina at 32 Weeks / 8 Months

If it wasn't for the ultrasound, I'd think there MUST be two in there.

We had an ultrasound today. Silas is already 2.2 kilos or 4.85 lbs and we still have seven WEEKS to go. Well, I did tell Tina I wanted a chunky monkey and God answered my prayer.

It has been a while since our last blog entry. Not much to report except Silas growing like a weed!

Tina... are you sure you can make it two more months!?!? I thought you hated balloons.

Tina at 24 Weeks / 6 Months

Sorry, I know this doesn't count as a proper photo taken against our hallway wall, but we were fueling the rental car on our way to Denver International Airport to catch our flight back to Sydney. Tina sure is smiling a lot considering she has a 22-hour travel time ahead of her.

Pregnancy Photos

I am so glad Tina made us an appointment with Photo Innovations to have some pregnancy pictures taken. The gentlemen said, "Just so you know, we don't do bare belly photos." Tina answered him, "Good, 'cause neither do I!" LOL

I Felt My Son Kick Today!

I haven't seen Tina in almost three weeks because she has been visiting friends and family in the States. However, today I felt Silas kick ME for the first time! What a thrill!!!

Oma's oldest grandchild is 33. What a surprise to find out there's a grandson on the way.

Tina at 20 Weeks / 5 Months

Another milestone is accomplished today. THANK YOU LORD!

First Kick

Tina tells me she felt Silas kick for the first time today. If this pregnancy is anything like the one she had with Eden, I won't be able to feel him for a few more weeks. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to have a life inside me. What a great blessing for women.

Silas' Moon

This is the very first thing I purchased for Silas.

Considering that I am over the moon about my son, I think it's rather appropriate.

Strong Heart

The initial thing we look at in an ultrasound is the heart. It is the first organ formed and begins beating as early as 21 days after conception. Interesting in light of how the Bible tells us that God does not look at our outward appearance but at our heart (1 Sam 16:7).

There are several recorded cases where God anointed, sanctified and filled a child with the Holy Spirit before they were even born (Jer 1:5, Luke 1:15). This is my prayer for our son.

Here is the first ultrasound photo we've been able to see of little Silas. He was very well behaved for the ultrasound technician.

I just got home from our 18-week scan. The baby is definitely a boy!

Tina at 16 Weeks / 4 Months

Tina at 16 weeks. Four months down.... five to go!

At this rate, I may need to switch my camera to landscape. :)

Baby Names

One issue that always comes up during this time is the prospect of names. Being a true geek, I must do my research on such things as I did with Eden, so here are some stats on a few names:

John is losing popularity fast!

Tina had her heyday in the 60s.

Eden's name is growing in popularity FAST!

Selah too is becoming popular.

If we have a girl, I'm trying to get Tina to name her Vashti. Unfortunately, this name doesn't even make the charts. (Jonathon, it's never made ANY chart because it's a horrible name!)

We've somewhat settled on the name Silas if we have a boy. The name was once popular but took a dive in the 50s and 60s before gaining momentum again.

We are completely undecided on a girl's name.

12 Weeks / 3 Months

Tina is starting to look a bit "curvy" at 12 weeks!!!

First Ultrasound

The first ultrasound is all about the heartbeat. We pray for a strong heart and one that will always seek God! Well, the first part has already been answered. Our little one has a strong, normal heart at 167 beats/minute.

Not much to see yet... This is the little grape on his/her side.

Vital stats... Confirmation of 9 weeks and 4 days.

Nice strong heart. THANK YOU LORD!

A Third Miracle

God has blessed us again with a miracle. Right after we had given up all hope of having another child, Tina became pregnant for the third time!

We are both nervous and excited. We know we shouldn't be because God is in control, but with the heartaches of the past, it is difficult not to worry.
