Dinosaurs

Look out Silas!! You are surrounded by dinosaurs.

As he tries to make a get-away on his tummy....

He is attacked by the ferocious purple and blue spotted dino.

Multitasking

It's nice when I'm working from home. I can make my important calls while Silas sleeps.

I guess he doesn't find my work very interesting.

This is a nice angle where we see Kelly Tonna's painting of Eden in th background.

I think he's getting too big for my lap. Of course he'll NEVER get too big for his mama's lap!

Mornings

We still enjoy mornings with Silas. We put him in our bed with all these blankets and he has a blast.

He also finds new ways of looking cute.

I think he knows he's cute!

Houdini

We are not sure how Silas does it. We wrap him tight at night and in the morning he has miraculously freed his hands from his swaddle.

Tina calls him "Houdini"!!!

Finn Jay Cron

You may not recognize this little guy. His name is Finn Jay Cron.

As many of you know, we had several, very special NICU nurses who took great care of our little Eden. One of these nurses was extra special and her name is Aimee Cron. She traded shifts so she could be with us the day Eden died and even stayed seven hours after her shift ended so she could take our little angel to the morgue herself. She holds a VERY special place in our hearts.

15 months after Eden died, Aimee and her husband Simon were blessed with a little girl named Lilly. It was difficult to see her photos and not think of how close in age she would have been to Eden. Last year both Tina and Aimee were pregnant with boys. Finn was born on December 30th, just four days before Silas. They were going to meet soon so Silas and Finn could meet and begin their own special friendship.

Tragically, last week Finn became ill. We don't know all the details, but after a long fight in the hospital, he passed away. I can't begin to tell you how heart broken Tina and I are for Finn's family.

Our prayer is for Aimee and Simon to find the peace that only comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us of a man named King David. He lost a baby son and was quoted saying, "While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, ‘Who knows? The LORD may be gracious to me and let the child live.’ But now that he is dead, why should I go on fasting? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me." The wise David recognized that his son was in heaven and that he would someday be reunited with him again. Only by faith in Jesus Christ can we have the hope of eternal life and see our babies again.

We love you Aimee, Simon and Lilly. We are so anxious to hug all three of our babies one day.

Deformed Jaw

If Silas has a deformed jaw later in life, I may have to show him this photo.  I guess the comfort of sleeping on mama's chest outweighs any discomfort on the mouth!

New and Creative Ways to Play With Silas

Papa is always looking for new ways to play with Silas.

Perhaps this is carrying it a bit too far...

Mirror

Silas really likes the mirror. I thought that was only for girls!

Purple PJs

Silas is enjoying his comfy purple PJs.

He likes to rub the cloth. It is very soft.

Personally, I think he looks like Elvis!

He definately has Elvis' moves.

Bronco's Shirt

Tina put Silas in his Denver Bronco outfit for church. Thank you Steve, Tammie, Gary and Susan! I think Silas likes it; I KNOW Tina does!

There are lots of little footballs all over it which people mistake for coffee beans.

Ian gets to cuddle Silas for awhile.

I wonder if Silas will remember this moment...

Purple Blanket

Thanks to Kelly for making the beautiful blanket for Selah.  We had it hanging on a mirror in our bedroom and Silas couldn't keep his eyes off it.  Today we let him borrow it from his older sister.

First Baseball Cap

Silas isn't really sure what to do wearing his first baseball cap.

I think if he could figure out how, he'd take it off.

Hey home boy! Waz up?

Jan/Feb Calendar

I'm sorry it took so long to build the February calendar, but here it is along with the original January calendar.  You are able to click on the calendar to get a larger version, but you will not be able to expand a particular day.

Bibs

We now need to make sure Silas wears a bib.
He's a messy, messy eater.

No Silas. We don't eat the bib.
I think he's starting to understandwhen we put on the bib....
It's time for food!!!

Sarah

Tina and Silas with Sarah, our doctor's right hand. Not only would he be completely lost without her, but she is always VERY sweet to us.

Singing

Tina loves to sing to Silas and he and I love to listen to her.

Stick 'em Up

Sometimes I wonder what Silas dreams about. Perhaps he was told to put up his hands! Well, at least this gives me a chance to show off Silas' massive 5-inch biceps!

The Little Dallas Fan

Thanks to my sister Linda in Texas for sending Silas some Cowboy gear. He was surprised when I told him Dallas didn't get into the playoffs this year.
He was happy to hear the season starts again in 7 seven months.
Thanks to a high speed camera, I was able to capture Silas signaling the Dallas Cowboys are #1. It was either that or he was about to pick his nose. I'm not sure.
